Detective Benoit Blanc is about to enter a world of sin. The first trailer for Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery reveals a case that takes place within the walls of a church, where a holy man has been murdered and the congregation is filled with potential sinners.
Daniel Craig reprises his role as the brilliant detective, tasked with solving the “impossible” homicide of a Catholic priest (Josh Brolin) during a service. The teaser sets a dark and morally complex tone, suggesting a story that will explore the nature of good and evil in a place where they are supposed to be clearly defined.
The film features a stunning cast of characters who may be hiding their sins, including those played by Glenn Close, Kerry Washington, and Mila Kunis. Benoit Blanc himself appears with a new, more somber look, with longer hair and a three-piece suit that seems appropriate for this grim investigation.
Following its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6th, this tale of sin and suspicion is heading for a global release. It will appear in select cinemas on November 26th before streaming on Netflix on December 12th.
