Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, has called on all UAE citizens and residents to come together in celebration of Flag Day on Monday, November 3. The annual event, which begins with the raising of the UAE flag at 11am, symbolizes unity, loyalty, and national pride across the country.
“On November 3, we celebrate Flag Day — an occasion to renew our pledge, reaffirm our loyalty, and express our love for the UAE flag, the symbol of our sovereignty and union,” Sheikh Mohammed wrote on X. He encouraged ministries, schools, and private organizations to take part by hoisting the flag simultaneously as a gesture of national solidarity.
Established in 2013 by Sheikh Mohammed, Flag Day commemorates the accession of the late President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed in 2004. Each of the UAE flag’s four pan-Arab colors holds meaning — white for generosity, green for growth, black for strength, and red for sacrifice. Schools and communities across the Emirates typically mark the day with special ceremonies and patriotic displays.
