UAE Reduces July Fuel Costs Amid Stable Oil Market Conditions.

Motorists in the United Arab Emirates are set to experience some financial relief as the country has announced a substantial decrease in fuel prices for July. This development comes after consecutive months of increasing costs, primarily driven by earlier disturbances in the global oil markets. The Fuel Price Committee has decided to slash prices across all categories, including Super 98, Special 95, E-Plus, and diesel, marking the first reduction since February. This change is attributed to the recent fall in global crude oil prices as regional supply conditions have improved.

For consumers, the new pricing means that Super 98 petrol will now be available at Dh3.40 per litre, a decline from Dh3.95. Similarly, Special 95 and E-Plus have seen a decrease of over 50 fils per litre. Diesel prices witnessed the most significant drop, reducing by 73 fils to Dh3.60 per litre. These adjustments are expected to provide some financial respite to commuters and families who have been grappling with the burden of high fuel costs.

The price reduction follows a period in June where global oil prices softened. This shift was primarily due to diminishing fears of extended disruptions in shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, as diplomatic initiatives helped stabilize the situation. Brent crude oil prices have subsequently moved closer to their pre-conflict levels, contributing to the decision to lower fuel prices domestically.

Despite the recent decrease, fuel prices remain relatively higher compared to earlier in the year. However, this month’s adjustment should ease some of the economic pressures on local motorists. Analysts suggest that the trajectory of future fuel prices will largely hinge on the stability of geopolitical tensions and the continued recovery of global oil supply.
