Dubai is in the midst of a significant infrastructure overhaul, with major traffic diversions introduced to facilitate the ongoing road development around Al Safah and City Walk. The city’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has strategically implemented these diversions on Al Satwa Street and Al Multaqa Street to ensure smooth traffic flow and access during construction.
This initiative is part of the broader Al Safa Street development project aimed at enhancing road connectivity and alleviating congestion in the bustling area. The construction is not an isolated effort but a segment of a more extensive infrastructure plan. Dubai is investing Dh2 billion in the Latifa bint Hamdan corridor project, which stretches over 12 kilometers and links key roads across the emirate.
The Latifa bint Hamdan project is designed to connect Sheikh Zayed Road with several critical routes, including Al Khail Road, Al Meydan Street, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, and Emirates Road. This ambitious development promises to streamline traffic and improve travel efficiency across Dubai.
Scheduled for completion by the end of 2028, the project will feature seven bridges spanning 2.3 kilometers and eight tunnels covering 900 meters. Once finished, the upgraded corridor is expected to handle over 16,000 vehicles per hour in both directions, significantly enhancing the transportation network.
