New rates at the pump have been adjusted as follows: Super 98 now costs Dh3.40 per litre, down from Dh3.95; Special 95 is priced at Dh3.29, a reduction from Dh3.83; E-Plus 91 has decreased to Dh3.21 from Dh3.76; and Diesel has seen a significant drop to Dh3.60 per litre from Dh4.33. These price adjustments are a direct reflection of the easing of international oil benchmarks, which had been under pressure due to concerns about potential disruptions in Middle East supplies.
Factors contributing to the stabilization of global energy markets include diplomatic advancements between the United States and Iran, which have reduced uncertainties, and the improved flow of maritime traffic through the strategic Strait of Hormuz. These developments have allayed fears of supply shortages and helped balance the global oil market, leading to the current decrease in fuel costs.
Since 2015, the UAE has pegged its domestic fuel prices to the fluctuations of global oil markets. Analysts attribute the recent price cuts to an increase in global oil supplies, boosted exports from major oil-producing nations, and the restoration of vital shipping routes in the region. As a result, consumers in the UAE are experiencing a respite from the high fuel prices that had persisted over the past several months.
