On Wednesday morning, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan participated in the Eid Al Adha prayers at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. The event saw the attendance of numerous senior leaders, officials, and worshippers. After the prayers, Sheikh Mohamed exchanged warm Eid greetings with those present, marking the onset of the significant religious festival.
During the Eid sermon, Dr. Omar Al Darei, who serves as the Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat, highlighted the crucial role of honesty in fostering trust, national unity, and social stability. He also commended the UAE’s leadership for their efforts in fortifying the nation’s unity and dedication to national interests.
Accompanying Sheikh Mohamed were several prominent figures including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, and Sheikh Saif bin Zayed. Together with the worshippers, they recited Al Fatiha in remembrance of the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Throughout the Emirates, rulers and senior leaders joined citizens and residents for Eid prayers at major mosques. In Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed performed the prayers at Zabeel Grand Mosque. Meanwhile, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi participated in the prayers at Sharjah Mosque. In Ajman, Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi attended the prayers at Al Zaher Palace Mosque, while Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi was present at Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Fujairah.
Elsewhere, Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla offered his prayers at Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Mualla Mosque in Umm Al Quwain, while Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi joined the congregation at Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Mosque in Ras Al Khaimah. These prayers signaled the start of Eid Al Adha celebrations across the UAE, with thousands gathering at mosques nationwide to observe the occasion.
